Coronation Street appeared to confirm a character was out to get Sarah Platt ahead of a horror break-in on the ITV soap, with it possibly revealed who stole Damon Hay’s cash
Coronation Street aired a new twist on Friday night, as someone was seemingly targeting Sarah Platt.
Not only that, but it was possibly revealed who had stolen Damon Hay’s money after Jesse Chadwick was ruled out. Viewers know that Sarah’s criminal ex Damon had stored away some stolen cash from a robbery.
He offered it to Sarah for her daughter Bethany Platt’s medical treatment, after her recent botched surgery that left her fighting for her life in hospital. But Sarah and Damon were furious to find out the money was gone recently.
Sarah learned Jesse had overheard Adam Barlow and Daniel Osbourne talking about the cash and accused him of being the thief. Soon this was seemingly ruled out, only for a character to be shown watching Sarah.
The character was searching outside her mother Gail Platt’s home as though she’d misplaced something, and soon we saw a hooded man dangling her keys out of sight. He watched her menacingly clearly planning against her.
What reason does he have to enter Sarah’s flat though amid a break-in next week? The same guy collided with Sarah earlier on in the episode, and this must have been when he stole the keys.

Viewers may have recognised who the guy was too, as he has made an appearance on the show already. The man seems to be Mason Radcliffe’s violent brother Logan, played by actor Harry Lowbridge, as stated in the end credits.
Mason had been hiding away from Logan in Weatherfield after he tried to get his younger sibling to help him with a robbery. But what does Logan want with Sarah, and why is he targeting her?
Given he appeared just after Sarah and her brother David were discussing the fact someone else must have stolen Damon’s money, not Jesse, could this mean he is the thief? Might Logan have found out about the cash and where it was?
His brother Mason was disposing of a crowbar recently, so was it used to steal the cash? Is this also why he’s targeting Sarah? Who knows if it’s all linked or not, but it seems Sarah could be facing big trouble.
Obviously the money could well be why Logan is watching Sarah, as what other reason could there be for this asides her link to Damon. It doesn’t prove though that Logan stole the money, and why would he need to break into the flat if he had the money already? Sarah and David were actually suspecting it could be villain Harvey Gaskell who stole it, Harvey being Damon’s brother.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
