Coronation Street’s latest episode ended with Damon Hay and Sarah Platt questioning who had stolen his hidden money, and now spoilers hint at which character is to blame
Coronation Street may have revealed the person who really stole Damon Hay’s cash after it was revealed to have been taken on Friday night.
Sarah Platt finally found out that her criminal ex had offered to give her thousands of pounds to fund her daughter Bethany Platt’s medical bills. Bethany was left fighting for her life abroad after a botched cosmetic procedure, and Damon found out.
The character made his return to the show as Sarah’s ex Adam Barlow visited him in prison. He’d heard Damon’s voicemail message left for Sarah where he offered to give her the money he’d hidden away, which was retrieved in an armed robbery.
Adam initially kept this from Sarah only to reveal all this week, as Sarah’s mother Gail Platt considered selling her home to help pay for the treatment. When Sarah found out she was left reeling, but later decided to speak with Damon herself.
As Damon joked about expecting a thank you, it soon became apparent that the money was missing. Damon had been told that the money had been removed from the lock-up where it was hidden, and he assumed Sarah had collected it.
So when Sarah was left confused and forced to admit she did not touch the money, Damon was panicked. He revealed the money was gone, to which Sarah pleaded with him to believe her that it wasn’t her.

She explained that she’d only just found out about the money but had not been near it. Damon was left furious and asking who had collected it, with Adam left under suspicion with some viewers.
But now it seems it might not be Adam at all, as spoilers tease his own shock at the twist. They also hint at two other characters being to blame, one of which is accused.
Sarah accuses Adam of stealing Damon’s money from the lock-up, but he quickly assures her that he had nothing to do with it. With Daniel Osbourne also quizzed about it, he too is proven innocent.
While Adam suspects Damon’s cousin is to blame, with him being the one who went to “check on it”, Sarah comes up with another theory. Adam lets slip that returning character Jesse Chadwick may have overheard him and Daniel discussing Damon’s hidden cash.
Already concerned about Jesse showing up out of nowhere to spend time with Gail, Sarah becomes convinced that Jesse took it. So has Jesse stolen Damon’s money, and if yes will Sarah be able to prove it?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
