It’s been a couple of weeks now since the solicitor’s body was found after he went missing
Coronation Street has revealed the next suspect in the Joel Deering murder case – and fans may not be surprised. It’s been a couple of weeks now since the solicitor’s body was found after he went missing.
Joel’s disappearance was revealed after he failed to show his face in court. In the ITV soap scenes aired at the end of September, a warrant was issued for Joel’s arrest as he was seemingly set to face his comeuppance for his twisted crimes, which included grooming Lauren Bolton.
But, after transferring money to Lauren, how the mother of his son Frankie and his ex-wife Emily, and leaving an emotional voicemail for his former fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey, Joel’s car was found abandoned and it was believed Joel may have ended up taking his own life.
But the police investigation has since turned into solving Joel’s murder after his body was found floating down a river before it was then confirmed he’d been killed with a heavy weapon before entering the water.
So far, Dee-Dee, her dad Ed and her uncle Ronnie have been put in the frame, as has Swain, Mason Radcliffe and more recently Carla Connor. But it seems the case’s leading investigatior Kit Green has his own involvement in Joel’s demise.
With the case still unsolved, the detective constable has been coming under pressure to get a result. But has his reluctance to take advice on some lines of enquiry from fellow detective DS Swain been down to his own involvement in Joel’s death?
In Monday night’s (November 4) Coronation Street, viewers will see the waters further muddied when a shock flashback takes us back to the night of September the 27th, showing a clearly agitated Kit deleting a phone call while snatching a bottle of whiskey from the Rovers bar.
Where was Kit those moments prior and what does he need to take the edge off? A second flashback will reveal all as we see Kit on the wrong side of the law once more, leaving viewers wondering if the Weatherfield cop is the killer?
It comes after last Friday night’s episode (November 1) saw Kit tampering with evidence linked to the investigation after Swain gave him a tip about a red car. She had told him that whoever owns the red car that crashed into Greg’s wing mirror might know something about Joel and could have witnessed something related to the murder.
Kit returned to the station, where Craig sent him a spreadsheet of all the red cars in the area. He quizzed Craig on whether he’d read the document, or if he had sent it to Swain, to which he responded no on both accounts. With Craig heading back to work, Kit scrolled through the list, before secretly deleting the vehicle registered under his name.
And Corrie fans quickly reacted on social media. @_mariekx said: “Sooooo Kit has a red car… knew he had something to do with it.. #corrie.” @jennyeast008 predicted: “So is it that Kit covered for Joel by planting the evidence in Nathan’s van. Then Joel threatened Kit with what he knew and then a row broke out?? #Corrie.” @WhoPotterVian added: “So Kit has a red car then. He definitely killed Joel. #Corrie.”
