Coronation Street star Cait Fitton has been a regular on the cobbles since 2022, but fans have only just realised that she once auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent
Coronation Street viewers have been left gobsmacked after discovering that Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton on the ITV soap, once auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent and made it to the final.
The actress, who first appeared on the cobbles in 2022, has been at the centre of several dramatic storylines as the fiery and loyal teenager Lauren. Her character’s experiences range from dealing with her racist far-right extremist father Reece Bolton (Scott Anson) to going missing after being left for dead by abuser Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
Particularly in the last year, Lauren was involved in a major whodunnit on the soap when she ended up killing Joel, but luckily, she wasn’t imprisoned for the crime.

However, fans are now realising that Cait once auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent in 2020 and reached the final with the sign-language choir Sign Along With Us. Their heartwarming performance of This Is Me from The Greatest Showman soundtrack won over the audience.
However, they were narrowly beaten by comedic pianist and singer Jon Courtenay. Despite this, Cait’s BGT journey seems to have worked out well for her, as two years later, she landed the role of Lauren on Corrie.

Soap opera lovers were gobsmacked after stumbling upon a TikTok video showcasing Cait’s BGT audition, sparking a flurry of surprised reactions in the comments section. One viewer gasped, “Omg I didn’t realise that was her!”
While another admitted, “The way I’ve watched their audition 100’s of times and never realised Cait was in the group, she’s so incredibly talented!”
Joining the chorus of amazement, someone else remarked, “No way I had no clue it was her now I can see it.”, reports Lancs Live. Another followed up with disbelief: “No way! I would never have guessed that was her!!”
