Coronation Street favourite dramatically quits job after ‘being taken advantage of’

One Coronation Street character will defiantly quit her job next week on the ITV soap, as a villain continues to target her to steal her savings amid a cult storyline

A Coronation Street favourite will leave her job in upcoming episodes, after lashing out at those around her.

Amy Barlow will dramatically quit her role at The Bistro, accusing the restaurant and boss Nick Tilsley of “taking advantage of her”. Fed up of being left to run the place alone, she considers what villain Rowan Cunliffe recently told her about seeking other opportunities.

Amy has been struggling recently, expected to look after her mum’s shop while studying and also her busy job at The Bistro. So when she’s left alone and things get hectic towards the end of the week, she finally snaps and quits on the spot.

Slamming Nick, she calls him out for leaving her with no staff. She then tells him Rowan was right and that she’s being taken advantage of in a job that barely pays her.

She tells a stunned Nick and Toyah Battersby: “Rowan was right, he said I was being taken advantage of by working here. But not anymore, that’s it, I quit. Watch me, oh and you can send me on the rest of my wages, I am owed for three shifts.”

With that she storms out leaving Toyah and Nick horrified and down a member of staff. Nick knows this has Rowan written all over it though amid their feud after a shock blackmail plot.

But will anyone stop Amy from investing with Rowan’s scam institute before it’s too late? Rowan turns his attentions back to Amy hoping to reel her in, after seemingly losing his grip on Nick’s wife Leanne Battersby.

Infuriated when Leanne left for some time away, failing to isolate her from her family, Rowan was also annoyed when Nick refused to be blackmailed. In upcoming scenes he will convince Amy to become part of the institute, while it’s thought he will soon leave.

Rowan actor Emrhys Cooper recently teased repercussions ahead for Leanne once the truth comes out. He told The Mirror: “I think there are gonna be consequences for her actions for sure. Using her relationship with Amy who trusts Leanne, so there will be some repercussions for that but I can’t tell you what.”

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
