He admitted to starting the fire in the Platt family home that almost took his life
Coronation Street fans think they have ‘worked out’ what the future holds for Max Turner after he admitted to starting the fire that almost took his life.
In scenes aired earlier this month, a rag soaked in petrol was posted through the house’s front door along with some lit matches. The family was soon alerted to the fire by their neighbours as it quickly took hold.
With David Platt not around, and fearing Lily was in the house, Shona Platt and Max Turner headed inside with Nick Tilsley, who was left rescuing an unconscious Toyah Habeeb, who had been attacked by Abi Webster.
But Shona and Max were quickly left trapped inside the empty house and while Shona managed to escape, with her horrified husband David waiting on the other side, Max was left stuck as the house exploded. He was later pulled from the burning property and was rushed to hospital where he was placed in a coma.
Luckily, the teen has since woken from his coma but he faced Shona’s wrath during the latest trip to Weatherfield on Monday night (February 10) as she discovered it was Max who set their home alight as he attempted to help David with the money he owes gangster Harvey Gaskell.
He was identified thanks to a distinctive hoodie, which a horrified Shona instantly recognised as it was the same one she had bought her stepson at Christmas. She quickly rushed off to the hospital, where Max was still recovering having woken from a coma. But once Lauren Bolton had left his bedside, Shona railed at Max for what he’d done before later informing David of what really happened.

David then headed to find the hoodie that Max had disposed of in the Underworld factory bins, but was he attempted to fish it out, he was interrupted by Daisy Midgeley who encouraged him to accompany her to the Rovers to see the donations people had made to help is family. Later, an officer informed DC Kit Green of a discovery and showed him the same distictive hoodie.
With actor Paddy Bever already confirmed to be bowing out of Corrie after four years of playing Max, fans think they know what will happen in the future.
