Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ how Paddy Bever leaves as Max Turner ‘survives’ fire horror

Fans of the ITV soap were left fearing the actor would be killed-off after he confirmed he was leaving after four years

Coronation Street fans think they have ‘worked out’ how Max Turner will leave Weatherfield after actor Paddy Bever confirmed his exit.

Fans of the ITV soap were left fearing the actor would be killed-off after he confirmed he was leaving after four years in January and that he had already filmed his final scenes.

The 22-year-old said in a statement to the Mirror: “After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities.

“I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.” He continued: “It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.”

Paddy then looked set for a permanent exit as a fire engulfed the Platt family home which saw him trapped inside. Corrie fans saw a soaked rag was posted through the door of No.8, along with some lit matches.

Shona Platt was soon alerted to the fire as it quickly took hold and, fearing Lily was in the house, she and Max headed inside with Nick Tilsley, who was left rescuing an unconscious Toyah Habeeb, who had been attacked in the house by Abi Webster, and bringing her out onto the street.

Shona and Max were then left trapped inside and while Shona managed to escape, with a horrified David waiting on the other side, Max was seemingly left stuck as the house exploded. He was later pulled from the burning property and was rushed to hospital where he was placed in a coma.

During Wednesday night’s (February 5) trip to Weatherfield, was woken from his coma but his dad David wasn’t able to be at his bedside as he was detained at the police station having been put under arrest by DC Kit Green after his brother Nick Tilsley turned him in to the authorities, believing he was behind the horror blaze.

But fans think it was actually Max who started the fire and that while he’ll survive, what happened will be behind his departure from the street.

@Blockbustargirl said: “It’s gonna be Max isn’t it ? As he didn’t die his probably going to prison. I’d say do a runner with Lauren but Frankie needs Dede’s unborn baby #Corrie.” @caolan.quinn.58 commented: “It’s max trying to help David and will go to prison for arson that’s how he leaves.”

Will probably go to prison.” However, @TwellyWatcher added: “I don’t think they’re going to kill Max off. Yes he’s leaving but they never said by death. I think he will set off into the sunset with Lauren (if and when) he recovers from the fire. I know Lauren isn’t leaving but could be temporary for her? #Corrie.”
