Coronation Street fans spot ‘real culprit’ behind Platt house fire and it’s not David

Next week, there will be explosive scenes in the ITV soap as a huge fire will rip through No.8 Coronation Street

Coronation Street fans think they have spotted the ‘real culprit’ behind the blaze that is set to engulf the Platts’ beloved family home and despite it being hinted that it’s insurance job, they don’t think it’s homeowner David Platt.

Next week, there will be explosive scenes in the ITV soap as a huge fire will rip through No.8 Coronation Street, which fans know that David bought off his mother, Gail Platt, before she left Weatherfield for a new life in France with her husband Jesse Chadwick back in December.

What his mother didn’t know before her exit is that her son is currently in the bad books of notorious gangster Harvey Gaskell. It’s become clear in recent weeks that he is being sought out by Harvey’s thugs after taking money which belonged to him, after it was offered to David’s sister Sarah Platt by Harvey’s brother Damon Hay.

Dramatic pictures released this week have revealed the extent of what viewers will witness when the blaze burns through the street’s Number 8, destroying not only bricks and mortar but also the lives of David and Shona’s family, and those close to them.

Those watching will be left to wonder about the identity of the mysterious hooded figure we see pushing a petrol-soaked rag through the letterbox of No. 8. And when the fire is proven to be arson some of the street’s best-known residents start to feel the heat and find themselves forced to try and convince the police of their innocence.

Spoilers for next week’s episodes have also given hints at who could be responsible, but fans think they have it worked out after one of the soap’s stars took to social media.

@swarlaspoilers posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “So it’s Logan who starts the fire,” alongside a screenshot of Logan Radcliffe actor Harry Lowbridge’s Instagram Story in which he reshared Corrie’s Instagram post confirming the upcoming fire stint before adding the emoji which depicts a person dressed as a ninja.”

Others, however, weren’t so sure. @tamlizann25 replied: “Or Kit? #Corrie @itvcorrie,” while @Nat1471 shared: “Nah its gonna be someone unexpected with sound on it.”
