Coronation Street fans say ‘wait’ as they spot unexpected soap ‘crossover’ as newcomer identified

The new face was quickly identified by fans of the ITV soap

Coronation Street fans were left doing a double-take after spotting an unexpected soap ‘crossover’. There was plenty of drama during the mid-week trip to Weatherfield on Wednesday (February 26).

It was a big day for Dylan Wilson as he finally discovered his fate for owning the knife which eventually killed Mason Radcliffe in shocking scenes at the start of the year.

As fans of the ITV soap know, Mason became the victim of a knife attack at the hands of his own brothers after a terrified Dylan pulled a knife during an unprovoked attack, fearing for both his and Mason’s lives.

Mason’s time in Weatherfield came to a dramatic end after he helped DS Lisa Swain with her continued enquiry into her late partner Becky’s death as she believed his siblings were responsible for her dying in the line of duty.

After helping to get them arrested and questioned, Mason decided his time on the cobbles was up and he accepted a job offer from Stu Carpenter in Germany.

But Matty and Logan found them at the flat and attacked Mason and Dylan as Mason tried to retrieve some family photos from their flat to take with him to.

While they weren’t carrying a knife, a terrified Dylan, played by Liam, tried to protect his pal, only for his decision to end in Mason’s horrifying death.

During the latest episode of Corrie on Wednesday, viewers saw that Dylan’s fate was finally decided as he was sent to the STC for six months.

He was already facing charges for possessing a bladed article but during his hearing, he made comments which left the judge reviewing what he was being charged with as he made it sound like he had been threatening with the blade.

Thankfully for Dylan, the CPS declared that there wasn’t enough evidence to change the charges against him and began to sentence him.

She explained that his age allowed her to give him a custodial sentence of at least four months, but because of his previous knife-related charges, she was sentencing him to nine months, which were then reduced to six for his guilty plea.

Later, Dylan was seen making his first entrance into the STC and he immediately faced trouble from his fellow inmates. But there was one who watched silently from across the room that Corrie fans were quick to recognise as actor Ryan Mulvey.

He played JJ Osborne in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks for a year before his final appearance in January, which saw the character sentenced to two years in a Young Offenders institution following the abuse of his sister, Frankie.
