Coronation Street fans say ‘it’s going to be savage’ as they’re not ready for icon’s ‘heartbreak’

Fans of the ITV have said they’re ‘not ready’ for the heartbreak ahead for one of the show’s biggest stars

Coronation Street fans says they’re ‘not ready’ for the heartbreak ahead for one of the show’s biggest stars as they predict Carla Connor finding out what Rob Donovan has been planning will ‘be savage’.

Carla has had a difficult start to the year after she was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with sepsis. Doctors later told her that the infection had badly damaged her kidney, and it’s since been confirmed she’ll need a transplant seven years after she last faced one.

While scared for her future, Carla made it clear that she didn’t want her family to be donors. However, it was Carla’s nephew Bobby Crawford who was seen bringing Rob back into Carla’s life after several years. Carla’s younger sibling, and the former fiancé of Tracy Barlow, is currently in prison after being handed a life sentence for the murder of Tina McIntyre.

But with Carla’s health taken a serious downward turn, Bobby went to his dad to encourage him to help her. While he initially refused, Rob eventually agreed to be tested, much to Carla’s initial disapproval.

Fans were quick to think there was more to Rob’s offer and it was then during Monday night’s (February 10) episode of the ITV soap, that they was proved right. They saw Carla’s partner DS Lisa Swain paid Rob a visit in hospital where he had been rushed to after suffering an allergic reaction to medication he’s always been allergic to.

With Carla sent on a wild goose chase in the hospital, Lisa was quick to realise that Rob is having an affair with prison guard Mandy and that the two of them are plotting his escape whilst he waits at the hospital to donate his kidney. Convincing Rob to go ahead with the operation, Lisa promises to try and get his conviction overturned.

Then during Wednesday’s (February 12) Corrie, Carla discovered Rob had been approved as a match for the donation and that they’d had a cancellation meaning the operation could take place the following day. Carla went to share the news was Rob and worried it was too soon.

But fans of the ITV soap couldn’t help but be worried for Carla, knowing that her opening up to Rob about being scared to die was making no difference to his plans to escape prison after the operation.

@sarahlawson84 said: “Carla opening herself up to Rob to have a moment of genuine connection with him again, only to have him stamp on her hopes is heartbreaking. Next week is gonna be savage #Corrie.” @swarlatakenover commented: “The way she’ll blame herself for trusting Rob.. I’m not ready for this #Corrie.”

@ifeelflames wrote: “These Carla & Rob scenes, he’s going to break her heart #Corrie.” @thatsmypeachx added: “Me watching Carla be so relieved about Rob being a match, knowing full well what he’s got planned and what happens next week…#corrie #swarla.”
