Coronation Street fans think Roy Cropper may be picking up on the chemistry between Carla Connor and Ds Lisa Swain as his latest move sent fans wild.

It’s no secret that fans of the ITV soap have been willing a romance between the pair since earlier this year, but more so since a ‘charged’ moment between Carla and Lisa hinted that their feelings may go much deeper than just a supportive friendship.

The moment itself last month saw Carla tenderly grabbed Lisa’s face and begged her not to put herself in danger, for daughter Betsy’s sake, after she had earlier come to her rescue in the Underworld factory.

After a brief moment, Lisa became overwhelmed, and rushed out of the door, just as Carla seemingly realised she’d felt something between the pair and things have been left unsaid since.

In their latest scenes together aired during Monday night’s (November 4) Corrie, viewers saw Carla once again going out of her way to help Lisa in her time of need. Hoping to earn some brownie points with teenager Betsy, Lisa came up with a plan to buy them both festival tickets, which Carla thought was absolutely hilarious.

With her Wi-Fi down at home, Carla stepped in and allowed Lisa to get to work on securing the tickets in her office at the factory. Betsy walked in on the pair acting sheepish, with Carla shooing her off with money to buy them lunch.

Soon after, Lisa received a text message summoning her to the station, where she faced a grilling from DC Kit Green about a text she had drafted to Joel Deering before his death. With Lisa gone, Carla kept her eye on the ticket site and later, the two women met up in the Bistro.

Lisa opened up to Carla about how much Kit had enjoyed telling her she was being suspended from work before she realised she had forgotten to buy the tickets, leaving her disappointed. After momentarily playing along, Carla revealed that she had managed to get them some tickets, resulting in a huge hug between the pair.

But Carla seemed confused when Lisa thanked her for being ‘such a good mate’ as they continued to question their feelings for one another. While fans are wishing for their romance to blossom, they think a Weatherfield stalwart has spotted the connection between the pair.

Following an earlier scene in the café where Carla laughed at Lisa’s plans to buy the festival tickets in the first place, viewers spotted Roy watching on with a knowing glance. Taking to social media with a clip of the moment, @LISASWAlN said: “Roy looking between lisa and carla … he’s seeing it #corrie.”
