Coronation Street fans say ‘admit it’ as they make Mason Radcliffe ‘claim’ ahead of funeral

Viewers of the ITV soap were left heartbroken last month when the teen’s life was cut short

Coronation Street fans want the show to ‘admit’ that Mason Radcliffe isn’t really dead as the residents of Weatherfield prepare for his funeral.

Viewers of the ITV soap were left heartbroken last month when the teen’s life was cut short as he died after being stabbed by his brothers Logan and Matty in a horrifying attack.

Mason was trying to turn things around after he was eventually served justice for his cruel bullying campaign against Liam Connor last year. But he struggled to escape his brothers who arrived on the cobbles to cause not just havoc for him but other residents on the street.

But Mason seemingly sealed his downfall when he agreed to help DS Lisa Swain who showed Mason photographs taken at the crime scene of her late partner Becky’s death and revealed that his brothers were behind the murder. He set about helping her and after getting his brothers questioned, he prepared to leave having accepted a job offer from Stu Carpenter in Germany.

However, as he asked Dylan Wilson for help in searching his brothers’ flat for a box of photographs for him to take with him, they were caught by the troubled pair and chased. Viewers then discovered Mason bleeding before it was revealed that Liam had brought the knife he’d been hiding for months in a bid to help save Mason.

Scared, he threatened Matty and Logan, only for Logan to take the knife and as Mason jumped to Liam’s defence, Matty pushed his younger sibling in Logan’s direction and right into the zombie knife and despite being found by Abi Webster before being rushed to the hospital, he later died from his injuries.

As Mason’s funeral is set to take place in upcoming scenes, actor Luca Toolan was seen in a new video with co-star Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain, which was shared by Corrie on social media. It showed Sydney asking Luca the ‘most searched questions’ about him.

Captioning the post, the Corrie social team wrote: “The truth is out…Luca Toolan does not wear mascara [crying laughing emoji]. We’re back Monday night at 8pm on ITV and ITVX where we say our final goodbyes to Mason [heartbroken emoji] #Corrie @itv @itvxofficial @lucatoolan @sydneymartin._.”

Fans were quick to respond as they felt the same but some still had hope that Mason may not be dead after all. @swainsxcobbles said: “Admit it, masons in witness protection.” @natzers_20 commented: “Wish they could bring him back.” @sam_farmer2 replied: “Gutted they killed him off.”

@stephgunther1 suggested: “Corrie should have Mason’s identical twin brother show up on the Cobbles. That way @lucatoolan gets to come back, and the message of the knife story doesn’t get lost. We don’t know much about Mason’s family, so a twin could totally be feasible. @coronationstreet.” @boltongahan101 posted: “Ah, I love this boy! Bring Mason back!!” @olive.oconnor added: “Love these 2. Raging they killed Luca off.”
