Coronation Street fans think they have ‘rumbled’ who will bring dodgy Kit Green down – and it won’t be DS Lisa Swain, at first at least. Viewers of the ITV soap haven’t trusted the cop ever since he arrived in Weatherfield.

The detective constable only arrived on the cobbles earlier this year as the long-lost son of Bernie Winter and quickly upset his new-found family as he went against his biological mum over her abandoning him. But it’s not just in his personal life that he’s ruffling feathers. Kit recently took over the case of Joel Deering’s disappearance before his body was found, and a murder investigation was launched.

After it was presumed he had taken his own life after evading court, where a warrant was issued for his arrest, the solicitor’s body was found floating down a river. It was soon confirmed he’d been killed with a heavy weapon before entering the water.

With Swain off the case after Joel found threatening texts between Joel and her daughter Betsy, Kit has been left in charged of the investigation but Corrie viewers have been playing super sleuth with the help of an exciting series of flashbacks.

So far, Dee-Dee, her dad Ed and her uncle Ronnie have been put in the frame, as has Swain, Mason Radcliffe and more recently Carla Connor. But it seems Kit has hinted at his own involvement in Joel’s demise.

During Friday night’s (November 1) Corrie, Kit was shown tampering with evidence linked to the investigation after Swain gave him a tip about a red car. She had told him that whoever owns the red car that crashed into Greg’s wing mirror might know something about Joel and could have witnessed something related to the murder.

Kit returned to the station, where Craig sent him a spreadsheet of all the red cars in the area. He quizzed Craig on whether he’d read the document, or if he had sent it to Swain, to which he responded no on both accounts. With Craig heading back to work, Kit scrolled through the list, before secretly deleting the vehicle registered under his name.

And with Kit trying to woo Daisy Midgeley before he leaves her spare room at the Rovers Return, Corrie fans think she may be the key to his demise – with a little help from Swain.

However, some do think it could solely be Swain who brings him down as @thatsmypeachx shared alongside an episode preview for later this month: “What if Kit is interviewing Lisa as the main suspect, trying to frame her for Joel’s murder (which he committed). Then Lisa realises what’s he’s trying to do and turns it round on him, does a Roz Huntley (iykyk) and asks if she’s still a police officer and arrests Kit!! #corrie.”
