Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve worked out the real reason Daisy Midgeley left her baby scan
Coronation Street’s Daisy Midgeley fled her baby scan on Wednesday’s episode as things got too much.
Last year, Daisy discovered she was pregnant but there was soon a paternity twist as either Kit Green or Daniel Osbourne could be the father.
After undergoing a DNA test, Daisy has kept the results to herself but on Friday night, Daisy’s stepmother Jenny Connor interfered and let slip to Daniel that he was the father after getting the wrong end of the stick.
On Monday, a delighted Daniel declared his undying love to Daisy, who was completely baffled by his declarations of being the baby’s father and wanting to reunite, even telling his family the news too.
However, Daisy was left panicked as she scolded Jenny for interfering especially as she claimed that Kit is in fact the biological father, not Daniel, as she vowed to set the record straight.
But before Daisy could speak to Daniel, he visited Jenny, where he admitted he knew about their debts to Carla Connor and how he planned to use Bertie’s trust fund to buy the pub so they could be one big happy family.
A delighted Jenny soon told Daisy the news, urging her to keep quiet and let Daniel think the baby is his in order to pay off their debts, to which a guilty Daisy has gone along with the plan.
On Wednesday’s episode, Daisy attended her 12-week scan, but overwhelmed by the situation, she abruptly left the appointment leaving Daniel chasing after her.
However, soap fans are speculating that neither Daniel or Kit will turn out to be the dad, which they believe explains her hasty exit from the scan.
Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “My verdict for who the father is of daisy’s kid on #Corrie – I bet it’s NEITHER Kit or Daniel as it says that she runs out of the appointment, and I reckon she knows that she is more than 12 weeks.”
A different account wrote: “I’m still hoping ryan is the father of daisy’s baby… #corrie” while another added: “Wouldn’t surprise me if Daisy’s baby turns out to be Ryan’s #Corrie.”
Soap fans will recall Daisy’s infidelity with Ryan Connor while she was still with Daniel, which eventually led to her and Ryan becoming a couple. In the interim, Daniel sought comfort in Bethany Platt.
However, Daisy and Ryan’s relationship didn’t stand the test of time, and Daniel had a fleeting dalliance with Daisy during a brief hiatus from Bethany. Yet in true soap style, Bethany soon learnt the truth and has left the cobbles for a new job in London.
