Coronation Street fans ‘rumble’ Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s new home – but not before ‘kidnap’ horror

Fans are thinking of what’s ahead for the couple in the ITV soap

Coronation Street fans think they have rumbled where Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain will soon live amid reports of another exit from Weatherfield – but they have suspected there may be a kidnapping horror first.

It’s been reported that Shelley King has quit the ITV soap after playing Yasmeen Nazir for 11 years. Shelley, 69, first appeared on the cobbles in her role as Yasmeen back in 2014 but will exit Weatherfield later this year and it is believed she has already finished filming her final scenes.

It potentially leaves a space open on the street at No.6 for blossoming couple Carla and Lisa to move in to. @WayhaughtLunar said: “Can you imagine poor Carla & Lisa moving into Yasmeen’s & having to live next to Sally the Ally #Swarla #Corrie.”

@camjmes0 commented: “Two houses are now up for grabs! #Corrie,” referring to both No.6 and No.11 Coronation Street to which @pipmacguitar replied: “Put Carla in no6!” @PGUK78 posted: “This means there’s no way Tyrone’s house will ever get redecorated at this point. I reckon Carla will have Yasmeens.” @thatsmypeachx added: “#swarla #corrie Reading that Yasmeen is leaving corrie… Realising Carla and Lisa could move into hers…”

But Corrie fans think Carla and Lisa will both face trouble first with the return of Carla’s brother, Rob Donovan. The year in the ITV soap got off to a worrying start for Carla as she was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with sepsis. Doctors later confirmed that the infection had badly damaged her kidney, and it’s since been confirmed she’ll need a transplant seven years after she last faced one.

While scared for her future, Carla has made it clear she doesn’t want her family to be donors. However, with Carla’s health still in decline, her nephew Bobby was seen thinking that Rob Donovan could be the one to help. As fans know, Rob is the younger brother of Carla and former fiancé of Tracy Barlow, and is currently serving time behind bars following the 2014 murder of Tina McIntyre.

During Monday’s (January 13) trip to the cobbles that Corrie fans saw Rob’s manipulative side rear its ugly head once again as Bobby made another visit to Rob who claimed that he wanted to help his sister and make amends for the past after finding religion during his time behind bars. But their conversation was interrupted when new inmate Matty Radcliffe caused a scene in the jail’s visiting room, pulling out a knife and taking a female prison guard in his arms.

As the tense stand-off escalated, he then used Bobby as a hostage and threatened him too. But Rob seemingly found the right moment to pounce after attempts to talk Matty down and Bobby quickly credited him for saving his life. Bobby later returned to Carla and told her how Rob was a changed man. But not everything was as it seemed as back in the prison, Rob was seen speaking to Matty and it was revealed that Rob had set up the entire situation to look like a good guy in front of Bobby.

And Corrie fans are worried about Rob’s next move. @WayhaughtLunar said: “I’m calling it now! Rob is having it off with the female prison guard! When it’s time to go the hospital to donate the kidney to Carla she will be one of his guards and will help him escape! #Corrie #Swarla.”

@swarlalove posted: “So rob organised that whole hostage situation just so that he could look like a hero saving bobby, knowing bobby would go to carla and sing his praises and carla would then agree to have his kidney. he’s definitely planning to do a runner from the hospital #corrie.” @RKT0v added: “Wondering now if Rob escapes and kidnaps Betsy to get at Carla and Lisa – #Swarla to the rescue. #Corrie #CoronationStreet.”
