The siblings are set to be reunited in the ITV soap

Coronation Street fans think another shock death could be on the cards in Weatherfield – and it’s not looking good for either Rob Donovan or Carla Connor.

During Thursday night’s (January 9) trip to the cobbles Carla’s nephew Bobby Crawford was seen kickstarting a train of events that will bring Rob back into Carla’s life after it was revealed that Carla needs a kidney transplant.

The year got off to a worrying start for Carla in the ITV soap as she was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with sepsis. Doctors later confirmed that the infection has badly damaged her kidney, and it’s since been confirmed she’ll need a transplant, seven years after she last faced one.

As fans know, Rob is the younger brother of Carla Connor and former fiancé of Tracy Barlow, and is currently serving time behind bars following the 2014 murder of Tina McIntyre.

But with Carla’s health still in decline, Bobby was seen thinking that Rob could be the one to help after Carla turned down offers from both him and Ryan Connor to be a donor.

He arranged a visit to the prison and sloped off without telling Carla where he was going. But his dad was less than welcoming and open to what Bobby had to say, as he accused him of abandoning him and listened to Carla about what really happened with Tina, but he still professes his innocence.

However, Rob later called Bobby and revealed he’d had a change of heart and confirmed that he was willing to consider being a donor for his sister.

Next week, it’s been revealed that Bobby will encourage Carla to visit Rob, despite his wicked words against her during their first meeting, as he believes he’s a changed man having found God, and wants to help.

But Corrie fans don’t quite trust Rob’s true intetions and are fearing things could end badly for him or Carla. @wr.ghty said: “After his had his fun with doing as much damage as possible, i reckon so. Unfortunately he’ll die from complications and it’ll throw ton of guilt onto Carla or something.”

@NicolaHynes1 commented: “So after watching today’s #Corrie episode. Rob is definitely planning something type of payback on Carla it’s so obvious with the way he was speaking about her. Question is how does he do. Does he hurt Betsy or Lisa or both. Does he almost cost Carla to die #Swarla.”
