Coronation Street’s Vicky Myers plays DS Lisa Swain – but it turns out the actor has appeared on the soap years ago
Coronation Street fans were left stunned after recognising DS Lisa Swain star Vicky Myers from a previous episode of the ITV soap. The actress first graced the cobbles as the detective in 2021, assisting with the Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) rape case. Since then, she’s become a key member of the Corrie cast and a hit with viewers.
Particularly over the past year, following the disappearance and subsequent return of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) – who was victimised by vile solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill). Joel met his end in September – with several Weatherfield residents, including Lisa, under suspicion. However, it later transpired that it was Lauren who had killed him.
Before her role as DS Lisa Swain, actor Vicky had roles in shows like Ackley Bridge and Casualty. She also had a leading role in the ITV drama The Long Shadow in 2023, reports Lancs Live.

However, it’s only now that fans of the long-standing ITV soap are realising she had a previous stint on Coronation Street, playing a different character. In a TikTok video, one fan shared a clip of the actress on Corrie back in 2010.
The TV star portrayed a driver who was stopped by Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) to call for help after his wife Molly (Vicky Bins) was trapped following their car crash. It has been revealed that Vicky’s appearances on the ITV soap extend beyond her current role.

She first graced the cobbles back in 2007 as a paramedic responding to a fire at number 4 Coronation Street. Even earlier, in 1998, she played a nurse at Weatherfield General during the episode where Des Barnes passed away.
Soap enthusiasts were quick to express their surprise over Vicky’s previous roles on Coronation Street. On TikTok, fans shared their reactions with one commenting: “Omg never noticed.” Another fan recalled: “I forgot about this!” And yet another added: “How do I not remember this.”

Vicky’s acting career took a significant turn in 2016 when she was cast in Harlan Coben’s series The Five, which was followed by roles in Channel 4’s Ackley Bridge and The Long Shadow. Despite these successes, her ambition was always to join the cast of Coronation Street.
In an interview with The Mirror, Stockport-born Vicky expressed her joy at achieving her goal: “In the North, as soon as you mention you’re an actress, people ask, ‘Oh, have you been in Coronation Street’ Now I can proudly say I have. On my first day, I walked down the cobbles and I thought, ‘I recognise you.’ I’ve grown up watching the show, so it feels like home.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
