Fans of the ITV soap are convinced they know who is going to die in the house fire

Coronation Street viewers are speculating that tragedy could strike the Platt family, with one of its cherished members potentially perishing in an imminent fire stunt.

The soap’s neighbours were alerted to expect some explosive action next year as a significant house fire rocks the streets. Locals around the filming location were reassured not to worry about loud bangs and fiery scenes, as these were merely part of the upcoming dramatic sequence.

Moreover, residents received notice of the plans to recreate a substantial blaze and explosion for the show’s dramatic effect.

An insider divulged to Metro: “The early part of the year is going to kick off the new era of Corrie with a bang pretty literally and one of the show’s core families are right at the heart of the fire storyline.”

Amidst this intense filming period, cast members have been sharing snippets from behind the scenes of their nocturnal shoots. Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, took to social media with a photo alongside co-stars Paddy Bever (Max Turner) and Julia Goulding (Shona Platt), keeping cosy in their warming gear.

Delving into discussions on a Corrie Facebook fan group, one viewer reacted to the rumblings of a house fire storyline by commenting: “Yet another fire if my street was so dangerous I’d move fast! “.

Another devotee speculated with caution: “I think someone will be killed off.” Adding to the speculation, a third member suggested: “Could be Shona,” while a fourth compatriot hinted at an unforeseen twist: “Nobody would see it coming..”
