It has been revealed that next week in the ITV soap, a huge fire will rip through No.8 Coronation Street which David bought off his mother, Gail Platt, before she left Weatherfield for a new life in France with her husband Jesse Chadwick back in December.

Fans already know that David is currently in the bad books of notorious gangster Harvey Gaskell. It’s become clear in recent weeks that he is being sought out by Harvey’s thugs after taking money which belonged to him, after it was offered to David’s sister Sarah Platt by Harvey’s brother Damon Hay.

And explosive pictures released this week have revealed the extent of what viewers will witness when the blaze burns through the street’s Number 8, destroying not only bricks and mortar but also the lives of David and Shona’s family, and those close to them.

New spoilers have since revealed more details about what happens on the night of the fire, with Toyah found unconscious inside having been in an altercation with Abi Webster, while Max’s lifeless body is also pulled from the destroyed home after he went back inside to look for his little sister, Lily.

But after seeing the extent of the explosion, some Corrie fans fear that the fire isn’t just going to effect the Platts amid rumours of an exit for Yasmeen Nazir.

@camjmes0 said: “I’ve convinced myself that Yasmeen is leaving in a Viv Windsor style exit,” referring to when Viv died following a fire in the Dales at Victoria Cottage which spread to surrounding buildings. The fan then added: “Streets are saying she won’t be killed off but I’m keeping my theory because she lives next door and where is Yasmeen during the fire? You live next door hen.”

@gregayala7 also shared: “We haven’t mentioned how Yasmeen will exit but I don’t think Max will survive but I think he and Yasmeen will both die in that fire.”
