Coronation Street fans have been left confused by news on Daisy Midgeley’s pregnancy as she still doesn’t know who the father while some of her latest comments have triggered suspicion that she may not leave the cobbles alone.

Actress Charlotte Jordan confirmed earlier this month that she will be bowing out of the ITV soap this year after four years in the role of Daisy. The star said in a statement: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish.

“After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.” She added: “It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.”

But as fans of the ITV soap know, there was a surprise for the Rovers Return co-owner and barmaid – and viewers – on Christmas Day as she was seen glancing down at a positive pregnancy test while sitting on the stairs in the back of the pub, where she lives with her former step-mum and pub co-owner Jenny Connor.

The shock news, however, has left Daisy wondering would the father couple be after having enjoyed a one-night stand with her ex-fiance Daniel Osbourne while also embarking on a new ‘exclusive’ relationship with newcomer DC Kit Green.

She had been keeping the news a secret, only confiding in Jenny, but potential fathers Kit and Daniel discovered she was pregnant when she headed to the hospital to be checked out after a scuffle with Daniel’s new partner, Bethany Platt, during his son’s birthday party.

During Wednesday night’s (January 22) trip to the cobbles, Daisy snapped and announced her baby news in the Rovers after being goaded by Bethany, who had discovering a pregnancy leaflet in the bag previously owned by Daisy and sold to Bethany by Jenny. The outburst also included her admitting not knowing who the father is, throwing Daniel and Bethany’s plans to move to London and get married later this year into disarray.

Later, Jenny brought Daisy to hospital, having found her suffering with stomach cramps. Kit turned up at the hospital too, joining Daisy and Jenny for an ultrasound to confirm if the baby was ok. Fortunately, the baby turned out to be fine and once back at the Rovers, Daisy was confronted by a worried Daniel.

But Bethany found the pair talking and fumed: “I was considering giving you another chance, but you can forget it.” Bethany then took off her engagement ring and tossed it to the floor, adding to Daisy: “He’s all yours,” before storming out.

But some Corrie fans have been left confused by the timeline of Daisy’s pregnancy. @JacksMum3006 said: “If Daisy is around 8 weeks, it can’t possibly be Daniel’s baby. She slept with him in December, and she fell pregnant in November. So simple math, makes it Kit’s baby!! #Corrie.”

@hk201124 asked: “Has it even been 8 weeks since Daniel and Daisy slept together?? #corrie.” @charliedaisyx wrote: “Hate that the horrible kit is there instead of daniel! 8 weeks pregnant pretty much confirms daniel is the dad too #corrie.” @purtonianboy added: “Hang on, Daisy’s 8 weeks pregnant? Hasn’t this storyline been going on for longer than that?”

Others, meanwhile, are wondering whether Daisy’s comments about Daniel wanting to stay and bring up another baby in Weatherfield is a hint towards the future amid Charlotte bowing out of the role.
