Coronation Street viewers were left saying the same thing as Alina Pop’s baby was finally revealed on screen during Friday’s episode.
Coronation Street fans were left in shock as Alina Pop’s baby was unveiled on the show. Alina, played by Ruxandra Porojnicu, made a surprising return to the soap this week.
She first graced the cobbles in 2019 and has had two stints on the popular programme.
Alina was last seen in September 2021 when she decided to return to Romania while pregnant. At that time, she informed her then-boyfriend Tyrone Dobbs, portrayed by Alan Halsall, that she wasn’t actually expecting.
However, just before her flight, viewers saw her at the airport departure lounge, cradling her growing baby bump.
This week, Alina returned to Weatherfield and was spotted by Fiz. A shocked Fiz confronted Alina, who revealed she now had a son, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Fiz confessed to Tyrone about seeing Alina and her child, urging him to find Alina himself. But when he arrived, he discovered she’d already checked out.
In Friday’s episode (August 9), Tyrone’s mother Cassie, played by Claire Sweeney, intervened to extract the truth from Alina. Cassie received a call from Alina requesting a taxi for her and her son.
Cassie personally drove the taxi to pick them up, unbeknownst to Alina, she was being taken back to the cobbles. Upon realising where she was, Alina demanded Cassie to turn around, only to be met with a stunned Tyrone.

Alina found herself cornered and ultimately revealed to Tyrone that he was the father of her son. The charming tot became an instant hit with viewers as he debuted on screen, with fans excitedly noting his striking resemblance to Tyrone.
On social media platform X, a viewer exclaimed: “The baby looks more like Tyrone than Tyrone himself.”
Meanwhile, another fan enthused: “They couldn’t have gotten a baby to look more like Tyrone if they tried, absolute spit.” Another contributor observed: “It’s mini Tyrone,” and yet another commented in amazement: “OMG this kid is the spit of Tyrone.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
