Coronation Street ‘exit’ as fans ‘work out’ Joel’s next victim – and it’s not Lauren or Dee Dee

Coronation Street fans are eagerly awaiting for villain Joel Deering to get caught out – and it could be sooner than we think.

Coronation Street fans think an exit could be on the cards for Carla Connor (played by Alison King) after Joel Deering (Callum Lill) makes the businesswoman his next victim.

On Friday’s dramatic episode, ITV soap fans witnessed Joel being released from police custody due to insufficient evidence for a charge, causing distress to DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), his former fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and victim Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

Despite Joel’s freedom, the trio remain determined to bring him down. Carla becomes infuriated when she sees him at the Chariot Square Hotel next week.

Official spoilers for the ITV soap reveal, while meeting a potential supplier at the hotel, Carla spots Joel and immediately confronts him.

Joel is enraged to see Dee-Dee there as well and makes another disturbing remark that the lawyer promptly reports to Swain.

In a fit of anger, she publicly accuses him of attempting to murder Lauren.

Carla’s run-in with Joel comes after his latest threat to Lauren, following a hospital visit to their son Frankie.

After discovering that Joel previously worked for Walcotts, a firm specialising in assisting vulnerable young people, Carla continues her own investigation.

What incriminating evidence will she uncover, and will it be sufficient to make the charges against him stick this time?

However, one eagle-eyed fan seems to think Callum will set his sights on Carla – but could she be his next victim?

Taking to a Facebook fan page dedicated to Corrie, the fan shared the theory: “So apparently in one of next week’s episodes Carla sees Joel at Chariot Square Hotel and calls him out by telling everyone he tried to murder Lauren and abuses young women, I’m thinking he will try cornering her at the factory and threatening her or will try attacking her or Betsy and hopefully DS Swain will turn up and arrest him, l just hope he doesn’t go near Lauren son.” (sic)

“I wonder if he has taken a female there?” one fan asked while another went on: “I think it’s the lawyer he’s using to try and get custody of Lauren’s son.”

Someone else pleaded: “Someone please find evidence against Joel to put him in the frame, going on too long now.”

“This is getting juicy,” someone else commented.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV.
