Coronation Street fans are fearing a sad death is looming on the ITV soap after news of an exit was revealed, as a storyline for Mason sees the identity of his abusive brother confirmed
Viewers of Coronation Street have predicted a heartbreaking death could be on the cards, after a sad exit announcement.
Following news of Stu Carpenter leaving the ITV soap, a storyline with troubled teen Mason Radcliffe has left viewers fearing the worst. Amid an abuse storyline for the teen, the soap has revealed the identity of one of his brothers, Logan.
Ahead of his arrival in the Street leading to possible anger for Stu, Stu will continue to support Mason this week after a discovery. Viewers saw the troubled teen opening up to Stu this week about his home life and his abusive brothers.
When Stu found him in the restaurant before opening time, he wondered what was going on leading to Mason explaining his home situation. Mason told him that he’d spent the night there to avoid another beating from his violent older brothers.
Spoilers for next week reveal that Mason is fearful as his brothers try to drag him into a life of crime, with Stu eager to help him. But his interference leads to Logan heading to Weatherfield, and soon a brick is chucked through the window of Stu and Yasmeen’s home.
It’s clear Stu could face danger at the hands of Mason’s brothers who have a history of violence, and are desperate to get Mason to do their dirty work. But could the drama cost Stu his life given he is leaving the ITV soap?

Taking to social media, fans are convinced Stu will be killed off in sad scenes as Mason’s brother makes his debut. One viewer said: “I’ve heard that Mason’s Brother kills Stuart! As The man who plays Stuart is leaving, it’s plausible.”
It was revealed earlier this year that Bill Fellows, who plays Stu on the ITV soap, had decided to quit the programme, and his final scenes have already been filmed. Taking to Instagram recently, actor Bill, 67, shared a picture of the sweet leaving gift from his co-stars.
Captioning the post, the actor penned: “Nice parting give with a top quality bottle of Champagne x”. Bill’s co-stars were quick to bid an emotional farewell as they commented on the post. It seems there is a sad abuse storyline unfolding with Mason despite his past, with actor Luca Toolan suggesting viewers might finally find out what had made him the way he is.
He recently explained: “I think this is the kind of abuse Mason has faced his whole life which unfortunately is what has shaped him into the kind of person he is today. I think once Mason is fully back on screen, we will see little nuggets of things which we will be able to explore further into his backstory and give a clearer insight into his family life.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
