Coronation Street viewers think Cassie Plummer is about to be killed off – and they know who is responsible
Coronation Street fans are speculating that Cassie Plummer’s days on the show may be numbered – and they believe they know who is responsible. Cassie, played by Claire Sweeney, arrived on the cobbles in 2023 as Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) estranged mother. She quickly became a popular character and was soon embroiled in various plotlines.
Recently, viewers were taken aback when Cassie began poisoning Ken Barlow (Will Roache). The two had formed an unexpected friendship after Ken required care following a fall. However, in November, Ken decided to let Cassie go after reviewing his finances. In a desperate bid to maintain her only source of income, Cassie started drugging Ken to keep him unwell.
Meanwhile, other Weatherfield residents have become suspicious of Cassie’s motives for assisting Ken, including his daughter Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), reports Lancs Live. This week on the soap, Cassie was caught in the act by Ken’s grandson Bertie.

He subsequently informed Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), who then told Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). When confronted by Daniel, Cassie quickly turned the situation around. As viewers will remember, Daisy is currently expecting a baby.
But she is uncertain whether Daniel or Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is the father. After overhearing a private conversation between Daisy and Daniel about the matter, Cassie seized the opportunity to use this information to her advantage.

Revealing her manipulative streak, she’s threatened to spill the beans on Daisy’s pregnancy secret if Daniel breathes a word about her to Ken. Now, as Cassie continues to make enemies left, right and centre, fans are speculating that her days could be numbered.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan group, one viewer commented: “Cassie is vile, please let her get caught out and get rid of her.” Another added their voice to the chorus of disapproval: “Hopefully someone will kill her off!”
Viewers think Bertie could play a part in her death
A third member of the group suggested an unlikely character as Cassie’s potential nemesis, writing: “Bertie! ” This idea seemed to resonate with others, with one replying: “Was thinking the same! ” and another saying: “I would soo love for this to happen.”
The list of possible culprits also includes Daisy, as one person speculated: “Daisy? She’s leaving this year and could get sent to prison for Cassie’s murder.” Another concurred: “I can see this.” Some even suspect Tracy might be the one to do the deed, with comments like: “I’d put money on Tracy. She’s killed before! ” and “I’d love this to happen.”
