Coronation Street has been full of dramatic scenes recently on the ITV soap
Coronation Street viewers have seen a series of exits and dramatic storylines recently on the ITV soap.
In scenes earlier this week, Max Turner, played by actor Paddy Bever, faced a judge’s sentencing after his reckless arson attack, which he orchestrated to solve David Platt’s financial woes.
The court scenes showed Max receiving support from both his family and Lauren Bolton as they hoped for some leniency as he’d pleaded guilty and shown remorse.
However, due to the fact he was “subject to a suspended sentence order at the time”, the judge revealed that his sentence was six and a half years in prison.

It comes as actor Paddy had already announced his exit from the beloved ITV soap and filmed his farewell scenes with fans predicting he would get a lengthy sentence.
After the scenes aired, Paddy’s co-star, Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton, shared an emotional video montage of Max and Lauren, writing: “End of an era” with a broken heart and crying emoji.
She added: “Team Lax. What a journey it’s been ….. Coming into this , I never thought I’d be lucky enough to be paired with someone so hard working and so dedicated . @paddybever you amaze me. Thank you for the lifelong lessons you have taught me , for being my rock and my partner in crime throughout my journey so far and for being the most caring , talented and gorgeous soul you are.

“I find myself unable to put our journey together into words so instead I post this amazing edit made by the talented @laxforever_ Look at the journey we have had and the memories we have made. For now it’s goodbye to Max on the cobbles , but I wish you so much love and luck for your future and I’m so excited for the opportunities that are to come your way! I love you Beves” with a heart emoji.
Earlier this year, Max star Paddy announced his exit and said: “After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max and Coronation Street to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.
“I’m eternally grateful for the chance to bring Max’s story to life and it’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.”
Coronation Street is on ITV1 at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on ITV X and STV.
