BBC EastEnders teases downfall for the Six as one resident is set to expose them – but it’s not Dean

Emotions ran high during this Thursday’s trip to the Square as the Six came clean to another Walford resident. But unlike Jack and Johnny, this one could actually expose them.

A new character could soon expose the Six for their part in Keanu Taylor’s murder as the group of women finally came clean to someone close to their victim in EastEnders.

Unable to cope any longer with her secret, Linda Carter (portrayed by Kellie Bright) turned herself into the police station, admitting she’d killed Keanu on Christmas Day.

However, as she refused to grass on her partners in crime, the authorities struggled to believe her and let her walk free but not without reminding her that if her newest statement was the truth, she could be prosecuted for perverting the course of justice and wasting valuable police time.

Left with no other option as she struggled to cope with her guilty conscience, Linda turned to Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) and told her Sharon (Letitia Dean) had never killed Keanu – she did. The loveable café worker was thrown into a rage when discovering the truth and launched herself at Linda to strangle her in a blind fury.

Elsewhere, the Six got wind of Linda’s confession and decided to take action to stop her from telling Bernie everything, as they knew they’d be left with no other choice but to face the music.

Sure enough, when Linda and her pals, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), all confessed, Bernie was adamant they all needed to turn themselves in until Kathy explained every detail, adding that they had been scared by Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), moments before Keanu was killed in a bid to save Sharon’s life.

Struggling to cope and in tears, feeling notably betrayed by her “friend” and employer Kathy, Bernie stormed out after Denise begged for her to wait until they’d said goodbye to their children before turning them in.

Later on, Bernie was speaking to her mother Karen on the phone as she suggested a holiday away from the ups and downs of life in Walford but, before she makes her decision to leave Walford to recover, could she turn the Six in to the police?

Bernie was recently shown working closely with Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) who was framed for Keanu’s murder, and the pair set out to rattle Linda Carter and intimidate her into speaking out against Sharon, who they thought was responsible for the crime prior to the pub landlady’s confession.

Dean has been determined to dodge prison, particularly as he knows he didn’t murder Keanu, but with Bernie in the know, one could also suggest he may lose his only ally in the uphill battle.

A theory now claims that Bernie could be at the core of her own whodunnit, particularly as her family is scattered abroad, leaving her with very little support in Albert Square. And with her now knowing the full secret, the Six may be tempted to take action against her.

“I’m calling it now, something happens to Bernie and we get another 8 months of nonsense trying to guess who killed her”, one of them penned over on X, otherwise known as Twitter.

A second echoed in shock: “So after 8 months of covering up murder, they all just confess? Surely Bernie’s gonna collapse on the way to the police station or something cos wtf.” A third agreed: “They Need To Kill Bernie Now To Be Safe Tbh.” Could Bernie be killed off?
