EastEnders legends Adam Woodyatt and Jacqueline Jossa have spilled the beans on their “biggest fears” as they gear up for the soap’s live 40th-anniversary episode. The pair popped up on Saturday Kitchen Live for an EastEnders special alongside Rudolph Walker and Emma Barton, chatting with host Matt Tebbutt on February 8.

Fans are buzzing for the live show set to air from BBC Elstree Centre on Thursday, February 20, 2025, which promises to unveil who attacked Cindy Beale last Christmas, while Sonia Fowler is tipped for a major role after Natalie Cassidy announced she’s leaving the Square.

Viewers will even get to cast their votes on whether Denise should choose Ravi or Jack Branning in a juicy love triangle twist.

While whipping up a stir fry, Matt quizzed Ian Beale icon Adam and Lauren Branning star Jacqueline about their jitters. Adam blurted out his worry about “The buggy not working! “, explaining it’s the gizmo that glides the camera around smoothly.

Jacqueline confessed: “I suppose there is the fear of the minds going blank and you forgetting what to say. But the thing is, we do it every single day.”

She added optimistically, “Hopefully the other person in the scene will help us out and it will be alright if it goes wrong!”

Plymouth Live reports EastEnders has previously broadcast two live episodes to mark its anniversary, specifically in 2010 with the climax of the ‘Who killed Archie?’ plot and Live week in 2015 which addressed ‘Who killed Lucy Beale?’.

The last live episode was largely successful, despite a notable blunder when Tanya Cross (Jo Joyner) asked Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) “How’s Adam? “, referring to the actor’s real name who plays Ian Beale.

Discussing her first live episode, Jacqueline Jossa revealed: “My stuff was pre-recorded as I was pregnant with my daughter, who is now going to be 10, (namely) Ella.”

“This one I’m actually in which is exciting.”

When Matt asked if that made the episode nerve-wracking, she responded@ “Of course, but that made it fun.”

Saturday Kitchen Live airs weekly at 10am on Saturday mornings on BBC One.
