EastEnders Sonia Fowler was seen making a huge mistake during Wednesday’s visit to the Square as she played her sister’s confession tape in front of Reiss Colwell

EastEnders viewers are on tenterhooks over Sonia Fowler’s (portrayed by Natalie Cassidy) fate after she made a colossal blunder on the episode aired on February 5. Sonia, who was recently acquitted for the murder of Debbie Colwell (Jenny Meier) – a crime actually committed by her partner Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) – has been fixated on viewing a confession tape made by her sister Bianca (Patsy Palmer).

Bianca, held captive since November by Reiss after discovering his guilt, had falsely confessed to the murder to secure Sonia’s release. Upon her return to Walford, Sonia refused to believe her sister capable of such a heinous act and was desperate to see the confession.

In a recent twist, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) managed to procure a copy of the tape and gave it to Sonia, with the understanding that she would keep it hidden from Reiss. However, Sonia shockingly chose to watch the footage in her living room, where she was inevitably interrupted by an enraged Reiss.

This scene sparked a flurry of reactions from EastEnders fans, who are now fearing for Sonia’s safety and criticising her careless mistake.

EastEnders fans were left fuming after Sonia made a huge blunder on the show. One viewer took to X, saying: “So Sonia gets hold of Bianca’s confession and says she doesn’t want [Reiss] to know so she decides to watch it in their living room with him there. #Eastenders”, reports Plymouth Live.

Others joined in, with one stating: “#EastEnders I knew it. Knew Sonia would be stupid and watch the video with Reiss still in the house. Of course he was gonna catch her.”

A third fan chimed in, criticising the scene’s writers: “Ok but who wrote that scene. Sonia WHY would you watch that with [Reiss] inches away YOU IDIOTTTT #eastenders.”
