After being rushed to hospital, Nish Panesar was told that his health had taken a turn for the worst, to the shock of his family. But could he be playing another trick?
Though he is said to be dying, could Nish Panesar have found a way to play another mind game with the help of an accomplice?
The EastEnders villain portrayed by Navin Chowdhry was saved seconds away from death earlier this week, deepening a huge wedge within his family as his granddaughter Avani realised his estranged wife Suki was ready to let him die.
While Nish remained in a hospital bed throughout this Thursday’s (September 26, 2024) instalment of the BBC One soap, Suki Panesar (played by Balvinder Sopal) looked back on his last-minute decision to change his will, naming Avani and her brother Nugget as his beneficiaries.
Unwilling to go down without a fight or a penny, Suki then decided to confront a worn-out Nish in hospital, before a nurse entered his hospital room and broke the news that he had a limited amount of time left to live.

This was not only due to recent events, but also caused by his own choices as he admitted he still drank alcohol despite being urged to make changes to his lifestyle.
Clearly devastated by the news, Nish was a wounded animal as he agreed to make the most of his last moments with his family and, after Avani (Aaliyah James) called her out on her own harmful behaviour, Suki encouraged her son Vinny (Shiv Jalota) to make peace with Nish – only for his own sake.
In tear-jerking scenes, Vinny paid Nish a visit and opened up to him before breaking down, leaving a dying Nish in tatters. But could it all be for show? Nish has been an expert at tricking everyone around him and though he was diagnosed with myocarditis, one person may have been hired to help him manipulate Suki even further.
A new theory suggests that the nurse who revealed Nish’s life was drawing to an end could be working alongside Nish to trick his family and, more importantly, his estranged wife. This may have been established when Nish called in his solicitor to, supposedly, change his will to only include Nugget and Avani – particularly as nobody witnessed their private exchange.
Viewers of the London-based show were left scratching their heads, wondering if Nish’s will was valid, as it failed to mention another one of his grandchildren. “Is that will legit though? That will could have been a different version and Nish sent his lawyer away with the real will…. Interesting Nish hasn’t left Tyrion (Jag’s son) anything”, one of them wrote on Twitter, now X.
Another jumped in: “I like how they invented new grandkids for Nish but he still doesn’t care about Jags kid”, while a third echoed: “nish seems to have forgotten about the other grandson he has from the ‘boy he loved so much’ jagvir.”
One fan then lamented: “Lowkey expected nish to say he was gonna leave all his money to jags and he walks through the hospital door. But eastenders would never give us the satisfaction.”
While it’s likely Nish is on his way out, as actor Navin Chowdhry was said to have quit EastEnders, his past antics have proven the villain is capable of anything – even killing his own son. What else could he have in mind?
