EastEnders viewers think they’ve spotted Walford’s latest couple after a ‘glaring clue’.
EastEnders enthusiasts are speculating that two of the show’s iconic characters may be on the brink of a romantic relationship. The BBC One soap commenced its much-anticipated 40th anniversary week on Monday (February 18) with Honey (Emma Barton) and Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) tying the knot in a heartwarming ceremony on the Square.
Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) was present at his cousin Billy’s wedding, marking his first return to Walford in nearly nine years. However, he seems oblivious to his brother Phil’s (Steve McFadden) severe mental health struggles, despite their close friend Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) expressing concern.
Meanwhile, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has returned home after a stint in rehab for her escalating alcohol addiction. In a conversation outside the pub, Grant told Linda: “I was the landlord once, many moons ago,” turning on his charm.

But before they could delve deeper into the conversation, Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) arrived to remind Grant that his late wife Tiffany Mitchell (Martine McCutcheon) was hit by a car at the very spot where he was standing. Linda, the Queen Vic landlady, quickly intervened when Bianca became offensive.
“Look I’m sorry she’s had a terrible time,” Linda told Grant. “Look I know how hard it is to let go of the past,” she added, glossing over the Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) incident, reports Plymouth Live.
EastEnders viewers believe they detected immediate chemistry between Linda and Grant, leading them to predict a budding romance between the two beloved characters.
