All hope gone for Belle in Emmerdale as she gets bad news in fight to end Tom

Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) was convinced (and so were we) that she killed Tom King (James Chase) when she threw an axe into his back in Emmerdale recently.

It happened during a showdown that saw Tom chase Belle through the Dingle family’s land. She tried to trap herself in a flat beside Wishing Well, but Tom smashed the door with an axe and managed to get inside.

During this moment, Belle was pointing Sam’s (James Hooton) gun at her husband. He snatched it off her but just as he turned around to admire the weapon, Belle acted fast and attacked him.

Belle returned to Wishing Well and told Lydia (Karen Blick), Sam and Vinny (Bradley Johnson) that she had killed her husband. Lydia instructed Sam and Vinny to move Tom’s body but just as they returned to the scene of the crime, they realised he had gone.

In a remarkably lucky twist, Tom has survived the injury sustained to his back. He spent time in hospital but now, he’s back in the village and ready to target someone new.

A child.

Catching Isaac (Bobby Dunsmuir) alone, Tom asks him for his tablet back. The young lad explains it’s at home, and Tom manages to get Isaac to explain where the spare key is.

Just as Tom sneaks into Butlers to find the tablet – which has incriminating evidence on – Matty (Ash Palmisciano) returns, leaving Tom forced to hide.

Later, with the tablet secured, Tom spots Belle in the village and takes pleasure in bragging about his assured victory in court.

Once Tom returns home, he starts to smash the tablet up. Convinced he’s alone, he remains oblivious to the fact Nicola’s (Nicola Wheeler) son Carl is watching him.

It seems Tom has got away with absolutely everything so far – just what will this twist regarding Carl mean for him?

If he tells Jimmy (Nick Miles) and Nicola, will they start to grow suspicious?
