Alan has played the role of Tyrone since 1998
Alan Halsall has returned to the set of Coronation Street after a break while he took part in one of ITV’s most challenging shows, I’m a Celebrity. The Coronation Street actor was the seventh campmate to be evicted from the Jungle.
It was second time lucky for Alan, who had originally signed up to take part in the show last year before being forced to pull out due to an ACL injury. He was a popular figure in the jungle and his heart-warming gesture of creating a love heart with his hands became a regular part of the show each night.
Alan, who has played the role of Tyrone since 1998 returned to filming last night as his on-screen mum Claire Sweeney shared an image of the two of them inside the Rovers Return. She captioned it: “You were brilliant” with a red love heart emoji. The Walton-born actress also shared a video of him preparing to film a scene with Patti Clare (Mary Taylor) and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).
The I’m a Celeb star reposted the selfie to his own Instagram story, captioning it: “Thanks mum” alongside a heart gesture emoji. Alan also uploaded his own photo to mark his return. He posed for a photo outside of the Rovers Return and stated “Back to doing what I love best.”

Throughout his jungle journey, the Tyrone Dobbs star was supported by Coronation Street co-stars. After an awkward encounter with BBC Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough, Dean McCullough. Andy Whyment, who plays the role of Kirk Sutherland supported Tyrone Dobbs star. He posted a clip of the awkward scene and captioned it “My bro @alanhalsall. Handled himself so well here.” Other Corrie actors were quick to defend their colleague in the comments.
Sally Ann Matthews who plays the role of Jenny Bradley commented: “I got the ginger mist can’t lie. Al is the best” Paula Lane, renowned for playing Kylie Platt added “Don’t know how he kept his cool tbh! I’d have blown up!”
