Coronation Street has seemingly confirmed Max Turner’s fate following the horror fire that engulfed the Platts family home. There were shocking scenes at the start of February as No.8 Coronation Street was left in flames.

Fans of the ITV soap previously saw a soaked rag was posted through the house’s front door along with some lit matches. Shona Platt was soon alerted to the fire as it quickly took hold and, fearing Lily was in the house, she and Max Turner headed inside with Nick Tilsley, who was left rescuing an unconscious Toyah Habeeb, who had been attacked by Abi Webster.

Shona and Max were then left trapped inside the empty house and while Shona managed to escape, with her horrified husband David waiting on the other side, Max was left stuck as the house exploded. He was later pulled from the burning property and was rushed to hospital where he was placed in a coma.

David was later handed in to the police by brother Nick after he and Sarah struggled to believe his version of events, while Abi was cleared by husband Kevin of starting the blaze thanks to the CCTV at the garage. Meanwhile, Leanne Battersby was hiding her own secret as she wasn’t where she said she was the evening of the fire.

Corrie spoilers for next week have now revealed more details about the aftermath of what happened. Having already had a difficult day, the week starts with David’s day taking another turn for the worse when he receives more bad news from Nick. How will David react?

Later, David meets up with dodgy prison mate Andy Garland in the Rovers and Andy offers him another job. Will David agree? After, David and Shona visit Max in prison and reveal that they’ve applied for him to be moved to a prison in Scotland to ensure his safety but Max isn’t convinced he’ll ever be safe.
