Emmerdale legend Cain Dingle could be set to get killed off, according to fans
Emmerdale fans are certain that the soap has ‘confirmed’ a tragic end for soap legend Cain Dingle.
Cain (Jeff Hordley) has been a staple on the soap for 25 years – making his debut in 2000. As the troublemaking village lothario, Cain has become a firm favourite with fans over the years.
He’s also played a part in several big storylines too. From his romance with cousin Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) to his affair and subsequent relationship with Moira (Natalie J. Robb), his time in the Dales has not been short of drama.
Especially at the moment, as Cain’s had a difficult past twelve months in the village. As well as losing his dad Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell), Cain also had to deal with his wife Moira being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
What’s more, amid all the stress, Cain shocked fans last year when he ended up sleeping with brother Caleb’s (William Ash) wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) – with the pair left horrified with themselves afterwards.
And this week, Cain found out the truth about Ruby’s abusive father Anthony’s (Nicholas Day) disappearance: that Ruby murdered him – with several other Dingle members also now aware and therefore implicated in the crime.
However, fans are certain that the soap recently confirmed the upcoming death of Cain, in what would be a heartbreaking twist. As viewers will recall, at the start of the year, the soap aired several flash-forwards – with one showing a mystery hand being trapped under an icy lake.
More details about the ice stunt followed as next week, a limousine – that has some villagers on board – will crash into the lake – with several lives hanging in the balance.
Now, fans reckon the hand under the lake is none other than Cain. Sharing their thoughts online, fans pointed out how the hand in the lake appears to have a wedding ring and a bracelet on. And last week, Cain was given a bracelet by youngster Frankie Robinson.
“I’m guessing it will be Cain under the Ice. We know it’s a male with a wedding ring and they are wearing a bracelet. Frankie gave Cain a bracelet that she made,” said one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page.
Other fans agreed as a second viewer pointed out: “Cain wears a silvery metal coloured ring… the hand under the ice was a similar colour and width also the shape of the fingers on the hand looks very much like Cain’s unfortunately.”
A third chimed in: “You could be onto something but I really don’t want him to die!” A fourth also wrote: “I’m pretty sure it’s Cain too.”
