Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has been flooded with support as he took to social media just moments before a big moment away from the cobbles.

Daniel, who is best known for playing Weatherfield’s Billy Mayhew, revealed back in December that he had signed up for a role away from his main job. He confirmed he’d be making a return to the stage in Figaro: An Original Musical.

The soap star took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the news and said: “I’m hugely excited to announce that I’ll be stepping away from the cobbles of @itvcorrie (only for a few days) to debut the Role of Antonio in @figaromusical, a brand new musical at the iconic venue the @LondonPalladium on the 3rd & 4th of Feb 2025. Tickets are on sale now…”

His Corrie co-stars were quick to respond with excitement, with Leanne Battersby star Jane Danson replying: “This is great news Dan! Congratulations.” Harriet Bibby, who plays Weatherfield’s Summer Spellmen, commented: “Fabulous!!” Bernie Winter actress Jane Hazlegrove said: “Excellent work Mr B…” while former on-screen husband Peter Ash shared: “Amazing!!” Corrie itself also added: “We know you’ll smash it.”

And after recently spending time in London preparing, on Monday (February 3), the time had finally come to perform. Taking to Instagram with a snap from his dressing room, Daniel said: “Well, it’s definitely happening… It’s almost showtime!! So excited for you to see @figaromusical at @thelondonpalladium!!!”

See you tomorrow.”

Friend and fans were also keen to wish him luck. @dan__mcb wrote: “You’ll be brilliant mate, enjoy it.” @tenpennymix typed: “Go get them Dan …. you know you’ve got this my friend.” @steph.brocklehurst shared: “Break a leg Daniel.” @jberigliano added: “Fantastic. You’ll be amazing.”
