Coronation Street fans have said they ‘feel old’ as Jack P Shepherd shared a brilliant throwback with fans and asked if they spotted the hidden nod to his past in his latest scenes.
As fans of the ITV soap know, the actor is famed for playing Weatherfield’s David Platt. Born on Christmas Day 1990, David was originally portrayed by Thomas Ormson in the ITV soap until 2000. The same year, Jack was recast in the role at 12 years old and he has since gone on to play a part in the soap’s biggest storylines.
Viewers have seen David torment his own family, including pushing his mum downstairs, face a stint in prison, go through a heartbreaking rape ordeal and tragically watching his wife Kylie die in his arms. He’s now set to see his home destroyed in a horror fire after putting his family in harms way by mixing with gangster Harvey Gaskell.
Now, Jack has taken to Instagram to share a glimpse at his less dramatic moments on the cobbles. The first clip showed him during his early years as David, with the youngster heading to the Rovers bar and asking: “Two cokes when you’re ready, Betty love!”
The TikTok video, which had been created by a fan and shared by the soap star on Instagram, then showed a more recent clip of David in Roys Rolls as he asked: “Two teas when you’re ready please, Nina love.”
Captioning the post, Jack wrote: “Did you spot it? @coronationstreet,” and his fans and followers were quick to respond.
