Viewers saw Abi suffering from painful flashbacks
Coronation Street fans were left horrified after ‘disturbing’ scenes continued on the ITV soap on Wednesday. Viewers have witnessed Abi, played by Sally Carman, deal with traumatic flashbacks following the aftermath of Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) stabbing.
Viewers will remember the harrowing scene where Abi discovered a bleeding Mason fighting for his life. Despite her best efforts to save him, he later passed away. The horrifying incident brought back painful memories and hallucinations of her son Seb’s murder, which led to increased worry about Abi’s wellbeing,
This week, Abi’s painful imaginations continued to get out control, shown through a number of horrific scenes which made viewers feel uncomfortable. Corrie fans took to social media after witnessing Abi’s raw panic attacks and hallucinations of a dying Seb.
Viewers said the flashbacks were “depressing”. One said: “Make it stop!” More added: “Seeing Seb back and beaten as a figment of Abi’s imagination is quite disturbing” and “What in the horror film is going on here.”
Abi has been suffering from these horrific mind games for the last few weeks, and viewers were ready to see the end of it: “What’s with all of these hallucinations and flashbacks…”
Adding to her troubles, her husband Kevin has been diagnosed with cancer. Abi failed to make it to his hospital appointment, and Kevin was shocked to find Debbie in the waiting room, instead of Abi.
After she was distracted by her hallucinations, Abi had forgotten she had left Alfie in the car. Later on, a concerned Toyah and Nick found him crying in the car. Debbie shared her concerns over Abi’s mental state and how she’s worried for Alfie’s safety.
Coronation Street is on ITV1 at 8pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
