They’ve confirmed their own return to the ITV soap
A Coronation Street ‘villain’ has leaked their upcoming return to the cobbles, weeks after reuniting with their on-screen daughter. Scott Anson has confirmed that he’s making a return to the ITV soap as Lauren Bolton’s father Reece in upcoming scenes.
Fans will recall that Lauren, played by Cait Fitton, followed her dad, Reece Bolton, onto the cobbles alongside the far-right gang led by Griff Reynolds, who groomed Max Turner.
Reece exploited his own daughter Lauren to help the group’s cause, introducing her to Max before the pair struck up a relationship. After causing havoc on the street, in January 2023, the gang finally attempted to use the bomb against the community but Max and Lauren saw sense and were able to alert people to the danger.
It was Alya Nazir, who had previously been stabbed when Max’s propaganda for the group saw Blake stage on attack on councillor Maria Windass, drove the van that had been primed with explosives away from any living people where it exploded in a landfill. Reece was arrested for his crimes alongside Griff, Ollie and Dave.
Lauren went to stay with her mother in Devon before she returned to Weatherfield. She was taken under the wing of Roy Cropper but soon got mixed up with solicitor Joel Deering, who groomed her before leaving her for dead in a violent attack.
But it appears Corrie fans will soon be seeing Reece back on their screens. Actor Scott took to his Instagram and X – formerly known as Twitter – profile on Tuesday (January 28) and shared a picture of a Coronation Street script that he’d been sent through the post.
He revealed in the caption of the post: “Bad boy Reece is back.” Digital Spy reports that Scott is returning for one episode and further storyline details will be revealed nearer the time.
It was back in November that Cait revealed she’s remained close to Scott despite his exit from the soap and she was seen heading out to support him as he appeared in Blood Brothers at Manchester’s Palace Theatre.
Ahead of the show, the soap star shared a picture of her programme inside the theatre and said in a post on her Instagram Story: “Back again at @palaceandopera. Come to see my on-screen dad @scott_anson as he makes his debut in @bloodbrotherstour.”
She then later followed up the post with a sweet picture of the pair in an embrace, showing Scott looking completely different to his Corrie character having chopped off his longer locks, and said: “Proud off-screen daughter moment @scott_anson. What a great show, thank you @palaceandopera.”
