Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has offered an update on her time on the cobbles for the first time since announcing her plans to leave.
The actress confirmed earlier this month that she will be bowing out of the ITV soap after four years in the role of Daisy Midgeley. The star said in a statement at the time: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish.
“After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities. It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.”
Fans were left gutted by the news and have since been trying to work out how Daisy may eventually leave the cobbles, with the barmaid and Rovers Return co-owner stuck in a paternity riddle after founding out she is pregnant after sleeping with new love interest Kit Green and ex-fiancé Daniel Osbourne around the same time.
But it doesn’t look like Daisy – and Charlotte’s – exit is imminent. The soap is often filming weeks in advance and on Friday (January 24), the soap star shared a selfie to her Instagram Story showing her the the Rovers Return. “Thank god it’s Friday.”
It comes after fans made a clear demand about Charlotte’s impending exit – they just don’t want it to happen. It came after Wednesday night’s (January 22) trip to the cobbles as Daisy snapped and announced her baby news in the Rovers after being goaded by Bethany Platt, who had discovering a pregnancy leaflet in the bag previously owned by Daisy and sold to her by Jenny.
The outburst, which was branded ‘iconic’ by some viewers also included her admitting not knowing who the father is, throwing Daniel and Bethany’s plans to move to London and get married later this year into disarray.
