Fans of Emmerdale think one character is going to get the guilty verdict
Emmerdale fans are convinced that Nicola is going to be blamed for the death of Anthony Fox. In Friday night’s (January 24) episode, Nicola panicked as Steph went to the hospital to search for her missing grandad.
Leading up to Anthony’s death, Chas informed Nicola that Anthony was not to be trusted around children. Nicola immediately panicked as he had left him alone with her daughter Angelica to tutor her ready for an exam.
As she raced back home, she convinced Angelica to go to her exam early and then confronted Anthony. Nicola accused him of being a danger to children, and Anthony became increasingly angry as she threatened to call Ruby and ask her about his past.
In a panic, Anthony attempted to grab the phone from Nicola, knocking her onto the sofa as he wrestled with her. However, the struggle didn’t last long as Laurel showed up and hit Anthony over the back of his head with a candlestick.
He tumbled to the ground as the pair looked shocked at what had just happened. Anthony soon rose back to his feet and left with his head bloodied and bruised. After that he found himself speaking to Leyla who questioned if he needed to go to the hospital.
Of course, viewers watched as he was eventually the receiver of several deadly punches from Aaron Dingle, and John Sugden declared the villain dead as he lay on the floor of the depot.
Unfortunately for Nicola and Laurel, they’re none the wiser of what went down. Nicola showed up at the hospital to ask if he had been seen, but as the nurse asked for her details she panicked and left. Fast forward to Friday, and a worried Steph told Nicola that she was heading to the hospital to ask after her grandad.
In true soap style, Steph ended up speaking to the same nurse that Nicola did who then informed her that a woman had already been in asking for him. Steph assumed it was Ruby and confronted her later at the pub.
Fans now think that Nicola will end up taking the blame for Anthony’s death. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), @TonyCoffey15 wrote: “Nurse random getting more airtime, Nicola and Laurel are going to make themselves look like the ones who made creepy disappear”
@Ralph_Hapschatt added: “Not looking good for Nicola, but that leaves Aaron off the hook.” On an Emmerdale Facebook group, one viewer typed: “Well that’s Nicola getting blamed for his death, maybe the guilt gets too much for Aaron and that’s how she gets off the hook.”
Another user echoed: “Nicola is going to receive a guilty verdict. Maybe Laurel ends up spilling the beans out of guilt and Nicola somehow gets in trouble?”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
