ITV Coronation Street icon’s return ‘sealed’ after 7 years amid devastating heath battle

Rosie Webster, played by Helen Flanagan, first appeared on the cobbles in 2000.

Coronation Street’s Rosie Webster, portrayed by Helen Flanagan, might be making a surprising comeback to the cobbles. The character first appeared on our screens in 2000 when she was just nine years old and quickly became a fan favourite.

Viewers have watched Rosie, the daughter of Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Kevin (Michael Le Vell), grow from a child into a strong-willed young woman during her time on the soap.

In 2012, Helen decided to leave the show to pursue other acting opportunities, also leaving fans with memories of her stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! that same year, before participating in a special South Africa all-stars spin-off 11 years later.

In 2017, Corrie enthusiasts were thrilled when Rosie briefly returned to Weatherfield. A year later, Helen left the show again to go on maternity leave for her second child.

However, it seems Rosie Webster could be set for another return as her on-screen family face distressing trials.

Kevin Webster is due to fight testicular cancer, while his sister Debbie Webster will confront a devastating dementia battle, reports Plymouth Live.

Debbie, played by Sue Devaney, first appeared on the show 40 years ago in 1984 and, according to reports, will be leaving her role in 2025.

Will the Corrie’s iconic Webster family reunite on-screen?

According to Gambling.com, Helen Flanagan is still the 4/7 favourite to make a much-anticipated return to Coronation Street as Rosie Webster in 2025, and there are odds of 5/6 that her on-screen sister Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster) will follow suit.

Meanwhile, Beth Tinker (Lisa George) has odds of 11/8 to make a brief comeback to the cobbles to bid farewell to her son Craig Tinker later this year, as actor Colson Smith will also depart from the soap.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV and ITVX
