Hollyoaks and Coronation Street star Stephanie Davis has welcomed her second child – her first with partner Joe McKalroy – and revealed the heartfelt meaning behind her baby son’s name
Stephanie Davis and her boyfriend Joe McKalroy have just introduced their newborn son Samuel to the world, and the name holds a deeply sentimental value. The Hollyoaks and Coronation Street alum, 31, and her partner Joe, 28, shared the emotional meaning behind their baby boy’s name in a heartfelt social media post, revealing it’s in honour of his late uncle.
Alongside some tender snaps from the hospital, Joe penned a moving tribute: “Welcome to the world my beautiful baby boy Samuel McKalroy. Named after your uncle the one and only who will always weigh heavy on my heart I wish so much that he could’ve met you and cherished you as much as I do.”
He continued to express his love for Stephanie, saying: “It has been a traumatic experience but you are finally here in our arms. I never thought I could possibly love your mummy anymore than I already do but this is just so special and an unconditional love I cannot explain with words. @stephaniedavis88 I love you more than you will ever know.”
Overwhelmed with emotion, Stephanie responded in the comments, writing: “Sobbing reading this my heart, I love you more than anything in this world. I couldn’t love you more I’m so blessed to have you as a daddy to our boys [heart emoji] you carried me though that, it was so tough [vomit emoji][heart emoji] I love you more than you will ever know.”
The pair received messages of congratulations, as Claire Sweeney sent love with heart emojis, while Helen Flanagan gushed: “Congratulations. What a beautiful boy”, reports the Mirror.
Another user chimed in with: “Congratulations guys! He is beautiful. Wishing Steph a speedy recovery, sending lots of love to you all. Enjoy the baby bubble.” One more follower added: “Massive congratulations to you all. Hope mummy and baby Samuel are both doing well.”
Stephanie and Joe revealed they were expecting back in August. Since then, the soap star has been keeping her followers in the loop on her pregnancy journey, including details of her baby shower in December.
Reflecting on her pregnancy at the end of 2024, she shared with her fans: “Looking back to the start when they told us we might lose you, to where we are now is a miracle. You are one strong baby boy, our little fighter. Mummy and Daddy are counting down the days now till you are here in our arms. And your big brother is feeling you move every night excitedly waiting for you to arrive. Our rainbow baby. Our miracle. Our world.”
