ITV Coronation Street viewers go wild as they instantly recognise Lauren’s nursery nurse

Coronation Street fans were left distracted over Lauren Bolton’s nursery nurse in the ITV soap

Coronation Street viewers were left sidetracked during Monday night’s episode featuring Lauren Bolton’s court case.

In the latest instalment, Lauren found herself in the dock for the murder of Joel Deering. The villainous character was discovered dead back in October after going missing, and it wasn’t long before Lauren was revealed as the killer in a whodunnit plot, having struck Joel on the head with a rock to save Max Turner’s life.

On Monday evening, Lauren was seen enjoying some precious moments with her baby son Frankie before the trial, but she grew worried when he didn’t seem his usual self.

This led a nursery nurse to comfort Lauren, assuring her that they would look after her son and get him checked over by medical professionals.

Later in the episode, Lauren received the news that Frankie was unwell and in hospital while she was in court. Distressed that she couldn’t be with her son, Lauren confessed to the prosecution barrister during Max’s cross-examination that she was glad Joel was dead, reports Lancs Live.

At the hospital later, Lauren told Max that Frankie was battling an infection. Convinced she’s heading for jail, Lauren expressed regret for losing her cool in court and told Max that the trial doesn’t matter to her, only Frankie’s recovery does.

However, amid these scenes, viewers were distracted as they immediately recognised the nursery nurse, played by Suzanne Collins.

Suzanne, 46, famously known for her role as Nikki Shadwick in the iconic soap Brookside between 1998 to 2003, has also been spotted by eagle-eyed fans making waves on other shows like The Bill, Moving On, Clink, and Out Of Time.
