Anna shocked as she ‘discovers’ who really attacked Cindy in EastEnders – and it’s someone close

Christmas Day in EastEnders saw Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) attacked by a mysterious Walford resident.

It came after the Knight and Beale families discover Cindy and Junior’s (Micah Balfour) affair in utterly spectacular fashion.

In the fallout of the shocking moment, George (Colin Salmon) was thrown out of the pub by Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), while Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) debated taking some drugs she had found in Cindy’s bag.

At the Beale household, Ian (Adam Woodyatt) packed Cindy’s belongings and told her to leave. As she prepared to depart Albert Square, someone attacked her with a shovel.

Coming up, Cindy wakes up at Number 25 and continues to ignore Peter’s (Thomas Law) calls, worried about just who she can trust.

Later, Ian visits Cindy and manages to convince her to go to the pub. Once they arrive, Ian and Cindy are met with Elaine, George and Gina (Francesca Henry), who make their feelings known.

The next day, Elaine and George make a shocking discovery. After pointing the finger at each other, the couple decide to question Gina and Anna (Molly Rainford).

Focus then turns back to Gina towards the end of the week.

When she overhears a clandestine conversation between her sister and Harry (Elijah Holloway), Anna is left terribly suspicious.

We know the actual culprit of Cindy’s attack won’t be revealed until the anniversary week next month, but could Anna be close to working out the truth?

Was it her sister?
