Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve worked out who Brie is targeting in the ITV soap, after the new character was introduced to viewers
Corrie enthusiasts are convinced that the latest addition to Weatherfield, Brie, might be concealing a significant secret.
In a recent episode of the long-standing ITV drama, viewers watched as Brie stirred up some distress for Lauren Bolton in prison. With Lauren’s trial for the murder of Joel Deering looming, her destiny remains uncertain.
For weeks, Lauren has been confined with her baby son Frankie in the mother and baby unit, where she met new inmate Brie, who quickly began to rile her. In what started as an awkward encounter, Brie antagonised Lauren about Joel and her imprisonment, leading to a threatening response from Lauren before they were pulled apart.
Despite their separation, spoiler alerts suggest that Brie is not finished causing problems for Lauren. Fans took to social media after Wednesdays episode, sharing theories that Brie could be a dark character or have a connection to Lauren.

One viewer posited: “Something tells me there is more to her than we see. Is she dark?”
Another expressed confusion over Brie’s motives, posting: “Why is that Brie lass being so mean to Lauren though? Is this gonna lead to something big? ” while a third shared: “This was a weird interaction.”
Further speculations have surfaced on whether Brie is concealing her ‘true’ identity and perhaps has ties to Lauren’s past. One theory suggested: “I wonder if she’s an informer? ” while another hinted that she was “up to something”.
This speculation arises as Lauren’s onscreen partner Max Turner is poised to exit the ITV soap, with actor Paddy Bever set to leave his role. The actor has completed filming his last scenes and is expected to make his departure from the show in early spring, reports the Mirror.

The production team has been aware of his planned departure since March of the previous year, giving them ample time to craft his exit storyline which unfolds amidst significant upheaval for the Platt family in the upcoming weeks. Speaking to The Mirror, he said: “After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities.”
“I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way. It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.”
Paddy informed the showrunners 10 months prior that he would depart at the conclusion of his current contract. A source commented: “He finished filming at the end of 2024 and will exit as part of a huge upcoming storyline for the Platt family. Everyone at Corrie loves Paddy and we wish him every success for the future.”
“This is not a surprise or a shock and is all part of the ebb and flow of characters from the show. We have many new characters joining in the coming weeks and months – and also some returning characters.”
