There’s some big moments coming up on Emmerdale with one character axed from the ITV soap in a major new twist.
Spoilers for the soap have confirmed a death looms amid a number of other exits. Some departures have been confirmed and reported on, while there’s other rumoured exits on the way too ahead of big scenes on the show.
It’s now been confirmed that Anthony Fox is leaving the soap very soon and he will be killed off in dramatic scenes. It seems a whodunnit will form as part of the storyline, with actor Nicholas Day leaving the role after less than a year.
He was introduced as Ruby Miligan’s father just months ago when her daughter Stephanie Miligan also debuted. But his time in the Dales comes to a grim end next week, as his vile past is exposed to more than one resident.
The character sexually abused Ruby when she was a teenager, and next week things come to a head when a gunshot rings out. It’s confirmed Anthony dies in the scenes, while there’s a number of characters thought to be in the frame for his demise.
His death comes amid the exits of Wendy Posner and Brenda Walker being announced, with one of them tipped to air this week. More details about both exits are yet to be confirmed by the soap.

We only recently learned more information about a possible exit story for Leyla Harding, after actress Roxy Shahidi quit the role last year after more than a decade on screen. With reports suggesting she will be killed off, the looming car crash stunt, set to feature a sinister moment on a frozen lake, is tipped to be how she bows out.
There’s also fears a handful of other characters will bow out in the coming months, with teenager April Windsor still missing and a recent flashforward hinting at multiple deaths. There was a funeral scene with Cain Dingle seen mourning someone, so who dies?
Ruby’s husband and Cain’s brother Caleb Miligan may also be killed off, after the flashforward video revealed he would be left fighiing for his life. It seems he flatlines in hospital, so what happens to Caleb?
A bodybag is shown in the trailer too seemingly confirming a murder, while we also see Mackenzie Boyd running through the woods with a look of terror on his face. Fans are wondering if the twist will lead to an exit for Mack.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
