EastEnders fans ‘work out’ dark Nugget twist as Denise and Ravi affair exposed

EastEnders fans are convinced that Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati is set to become the latest villain to terrorise the residents of Albert Square following the death of his grandfather Nish Panesar

EastEnders viewers are certain that Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati is poised to become the next big baddie of Albert Square, following in the wicked ways of his grandad Nish Panesar.

In Monday’s episode (January 13) of the BBC One soap, now available on BBC iPlayer, Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) continued their secret rendezvous, narrowly avoiding detection by Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) and Kim Fox (Tameka Empson).

Denise invited her ex Jack (Scott Maslen) and the rest of the Brannings to celebrate Raymond Dawkins’ (Michael Jose Pomares Calixte) birthday, while Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) tried to persuade Phil Mitchel (Steve McFadden) to attend his son’s party.

At the celebration, Ravi seemed to show signs of jealousy towards Jack, and Phil had a heated exchange with Denise, who was livid at his selfish antics.

Later, as Ravi and Denise shared another stolen moment, they were caught in the act by Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Chowdhry). Fans have since taken to social media, predicting that the showrunners are setting up Nugget to be the next villain.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer wrote: “The writers are definitely setting Nugget up to be the New Nish #BabyNish #NishJunior #Eastenders.Another added: ” Another chimed in: “Nugget is still trying to be a little Nish wannabe, I see #eastenders.”

A third agreed: “Nugget has turned into Nish 2.0 #eastenders.”, reports the Manchester Evening News. Nugget has been grappling with the aftermath of his grandfather Nish’s demise. Before Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) nuptials, Nugget was frequently visiting Nish, who had fled from jail and was laying low in a Walford flat.

In addition to providing Nish with food and water, Nugget fell prey to his cunning tactics. Nish successfully persuaded the youngster to participate in a scheme that made it appear as though he had taken his own life, enabling him to crash exes Suki and Eve’s wedding and attempt to halt it.

Nish’s plot involved poisoning Eve and then holding Suki captive on a balcony. When Ravi showed up, he was provoked by his father into pushing him over the edge, but Ravi didn’t realise Nish was clutching onto Suki’s dress, causing her to fall with him.

While Suki survived the fall, Nish did not, and while most Walford residents are relieved to be rid of the abusive man, Nugget and Ravi are dealing with the magnitude of what transpired in their own way.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and available to stream on BBC iPlayer from 6am
