Coronation Street star Andy Whyment has showed his support for one of his fomer co-stars as they shared a happy update on life away from the cobbles.
The actor, famed for playing Kirk Sutherland in the ITV soap, waved a fictional and a real goodbye to castmate Lisa George last year as she bowed out from Weatherfield having plaed Beth Tinker for 13 years.
Following her exit, Lisa took the opportunity to return to the stage as she played the Fairy Godmother in the pantomime production of Cinderella at the Wyvern Theatre & Swindon Arts Centre over the recent festive period.
After the end of the panto run, Lisa took to Instagram with a string of photos of her dazzling in the role as well as sharing some behind-the-scenes snaps with her co-stars.
Alongside the post, she wrote: “These last 6 weeks have been the most fun! Have met the most incredibly talented bunch of people who are now friends. It’s been a blast!! Thank you @imaginetheatre for casting me as Fairy Godmother.
“Thanks to all the crew @wyverntheatre who have looked after us to make this show as fabulous as it was. One of the most enjoyable jobs I’ve ever had! Simply wonderful!! Love you guys xxx @eleanorburke_ @jackmalin @josiaheloi @maisiescarletth @bengoffe @dashley.austin @graceporter__ @reece__davies @tom.fishermacvine @hollyannerutter @sophhirst xxx.”
Andy was among those to respond to his former on-screen partner’s update as he wrote in the comments section: “Glad you had a great time Lisa.” His Corrie co-star Sue Devaney, who is known for playing Debbie Webster on the cobbles, also replied: “You look fabulous darling! So, so happy for you Fairy friend. “
Lisa’s fans and followers were also keen to show their support. @autistic_journalist said: “Fabulous loved watching you in the panto.” @comforthall1969 commented: “You look fabulous happy to hear that you have had a good time
@lindatylerr shared: “I am so glad that you followed your dream and did exactly what you wanted to do! I’m sure you were amazing and if I could have gotten across the pond to see you I would have! I hope you get another opportunity very soon to do what you love! Way to go @lisageorgeactor and congratulations! Sending my best from Ontario Canada to you.” @prinny1968 added: “Absolutely fabulous Lisa.”
