Emmerdale could be lining up a shock pregnancy storyline for Sarah Sugden – but fans are certain Jacob Gallagher isn’t the real father
Emmerdale fans are convinced a pregnancy twist is in store for Sarah Sugden – but Jacob Gallagher isn’t the dad, according to fans.
Actress Katie Hill has been the face of Sarah since 2017, stepping into shoes once filled by Sophia Amber Moore from 2007 to 2016.
As the daughter of Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), it’s fair to say Sarah’s time in the Dales has not been short of drama.
The character has spent the majority of her life in and out of hospital due to a life-changing diagnosis. Sarah learned she has a rare genetic disease called Fanconi anaemia.
She was given the diagnosis when she was just six years old. This led to her needing a life-saving bone marrow transplant and also a heart transplant.
Despite her tragic health, things appeared to look up for Sarah in the Dales recently. In the past few episodes, she has grown closer and closer to Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).
This week, following a fall-out between the pair, Sarah was invited by junior doctor Jacob’s work pals to join them for a drink in The Woolpack.
Jacob and Sarah managed to patch things up, and during Thursday’s episode (January 9) it was revealed that the pair slept together, after she stayed the night at his.
However, after Jacob’s mum Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) shared her thoughts on the pair, he seemed to backtrack and want to take a step back from things with Sarah – leaving her heartbroken.
However, viewers are convinced that Sarah will now end up pregnant – but in a game-changing twist, they reckon Jacob isn’t the father.
“Do you think Sarah will end up pregnant with Jacob’s baby?” said one person on a Reddit thread. Other fans agreed, with a second viewer commenting: “Most likely. She’s 19 and hasn’t had any children yet, so overdue, plus the village needs a constant supply of new Dingles.”
Meanwhile, on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, other fans speculated that Jacob might not be the dad. A fan wrote:” How long before they say Sarah’s pregnant with child kid?”
Another person wrote: “Biggest plot twist would be it’s not Jacob’s…” Thinking the father could be one of Jacob’s medical student pals, they penned: “His friend at the pub?”
