Coronation Street fans are convinced they have worked out who will save Carla Connor by donating a kidney to her after she was left devastated to learn she needs a transplant
Coronation Street fans are bracing themselves for more heart-wrenching scenes involving Carla Connor.
Recently, Carla faced a health crisis and was devastated to learn her kidney damage was so severe that she now needs a transplant.
In the episode to be aired on Thursday night, 9 January, Carla’s nephew, Ryan Connors steps up with an offer to donate his kidney if he’s a match. Yet, his aunt is staunchly opposed to this.
The drama intensifies when Carla realises another nephew, Bobby Crawford, has disappeared, sparking concern over his whereabouts.
The storyline unfolds with the revelation that Bobby has visited Highfield Prison to convince his dad and Carla’s brother, Rob, to donate a kidney, leading to a tense outcome, reportsĀ Lancs Live.

However, soap watchers think Carla could get a kidney from someone else entirely. Taking to social media, viewers wondered whether Mason Radcliffe, who was tragically killed off on Monday night, may have been an organ donor.
One person said: “I wonder if it’s possible that Mason was registered as an organ donor? Carla might get his kidney!” to which a different account put: “Was thinking same when Carla said someone have to die to get one”, another wrote: “Crossed my mind too”, a different fan wrote: “I thought that” while another added: “Was thinking the same!!!”
The recent development is part of a significant knife crime storyline which has seenĀ Coronation StreetĀ collaborate with the Ben Kinsella Trust to ensure the narrative’s authenticity.
In recent episodes, Mason was seen assisting DS Lisa Swain in her quest to bring his wicked brothers, Matty and Logan, to justice. After Lisa disclosed to Mason that his brothers were behind the car crash that claimed the life of her wife Becky, he decided to take action.

Despite gathering evidence against his brothers, they were let go from custody as the proof wasn’t enough to keep them detained. Realising his perilous situation, Mason chose to leave Weatherfield and took up Stu Carpenter’s job offer in Germany.
However, in a heartbreaking turn of events, just hours before starting his new life, his brothers tracked him down and fatally stabbed him in a series of distressing scenes.
Coronation Street is on ITV1 at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on ITV X and STV.
